Beyond the Fence Nominated for The 2019 Kate Greenaway Medal
We're pleased to announce that Beyond the Fence has been nominated for the Kate Greenaway Medal.
The prestigious award is judged by librarians and recognises outstanding illustration in children's books.
Beyond the Fence, written and illustrated by Maria Gulemetova, is a thought-provoking picture book about freedom and friendship.
Piggy lives in a large, lavish house with Thomas.
Thomas knows exactly what Piggy needs.
But a chance meeting with a wild pig changes everything, and Piggy finds out what lies outside the four walls, beyond the fence.
When children examine Piggy's body language, the narration takes on a different meaning.
