Reviews of Yokki and the Parno Gry (Travellers Tales)
A wonderful, much needed story about a travelling family. What I really like about this book is the clever use of traditional dialogue, cleverly placed within the text with supporting illustrations, so any reader is able to deduce the meaning of these unusual phrases, such as chavvies and folki. Needless to say the images are sparkling and I consider this a very teacher friendly book, based on its very positive message, many cross curricula links and a multi-layered storyline. A picture book for any lover of reading, whether in the classroom or home; a top 10 winner!
